Elastomer

An elastomer is a polymer with elastic and viscous properties, composed of long chains of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen or silicon. Their chemical structure includes cross-linkages between molecules that allow the material to return to its initial shape after deformation. Characteristically amorphous and slightly cross-linked, elastomers have weak intermolecular forces.
